Why We Continue to Support NECON Vinterkarusellen

April 21, 2026

NECON Vinterkarusellen has now come to an end for this season. Once again, participation remained high throughout the winter months.

– NECON Vinterkarusellen brings people together across all levels and backgrounds. That fits well with our values of being generous, engaged, and helping each other succeed, says Leni Langås Flåta at NECON.

There is a reason why NECON has been the main sponsor of NECON Vinterkarusellen for many years. According to Langås Flåta, the event reflects much of what NECON stands for and wants to contribute locally.

– For us, this is about social responsibility and local belonging. We want to be a generous contributor in the local community and support initiatives that create value for many people. The fact that NECON Vinterkarusellen gets people active year after year aligns well with the way we think long term – both in the projects we deliver and in the relationships we build.

This year’s season consisted of eight races from October to April and gathered around 1,600 participants throughout the winter period. At the season finale, 540 active participants – from recreational runners to competitive athletes – took part at Fana Stadium.

The age range is also worth noting: the oldest participant was born in 1941, while the youngest was born in 2019.

– For many people, winter can be a period with less activity and fewer meeting places. That makes initiatives that create togetherness, energy, and community even more valuable. When people meet, motivate each other, and experience a sense of belonging, it is a great example of helping each other succeed in practice. That is something we are proud to support.

NECON would also like to thank IL Gneist for a strong collaboration and for creating an event that year after year brings together so many participants throughout the winter season.
